We are a growing environmental consultancy and remediation contractor, providing support to our clients nationally from our base in Edinburgh / Fife. Specialising in remediation contracting, environmental consultancy, spill response and invasive weeds eradication, we deliver complete solutions to meet our varied client’s needs across the UK and overseas.
As a result of continued business growth, we are looking for experienced Spill Response Engineer(s) and Environmental Consultant(s) to join our team (including Lola our office dog).
Senior Geotechnical / Geoenvironmental Engineer
Applicants must have a proven track record of contaminated land risk assessment, including SI and assessment of water, human health and coal mining risks.
Experience of remedial strategies, EIA’s and permitting consents would be advantageous but not essential.
A sound academic background with preferred qualifications being a BSc or equivalent in Geoscience or Geochemistry, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Contaminated Land, Engineering Geology or similar is preferred.
The role will involve both site and home/office-based (Central Belt) work and the successful candidate must have a full driving licence, have the ability to bring a smile to work and enjoy having a laugh with your colleagues.
You will oversee and manage projects from inception through to completion and an element of business development will form part of the role.

Environmental Consultant
You should ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience working in an Environmental Consultancy with active involvement in day-to-day project management and delivery of environmental services; including but not limited to project management, site investigation, risk assessment, remediation design and implementation and technical report writing and reviewing.
Capabilities and Qualifications
- Experience in delivering;
- Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations.
- Factual and interpretative Preliminary Risk Assessments (desk based and intrusive assessment) and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (DQRA).
- A good understanding of current and emerging UK environmental legislation.
- Ability to communicate on appropriate technical and commercial levels to a diverse range of clients and sub-contractors.
- Ability to work with on your own as well as with the wider team.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of projects ensuring agreed budgets and delivery deadlines are met.
- Ability to draft quotations.
- Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A good sense of fun.
Salary (dependent on experience): £25,000 – £37,000 per year
Spill Response Engineer/Manager
You should ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience working in a spill response and/or contaminated land contracting business, with active involvement in day-to-day project management and delivery of contaminated land/spill response projects.

- Experience in delivering spill response projects, from initial call out through to clean up works and validation.
- A good understanding of relevant current and emerging UK environmental legislation.
- Ability to communicate on appropriate technical and commercial levels to a diverse range of clients and sub-contractors.
- Ability to work with on your own as well as with the wider team.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of projects ensuring agreed budgets and delivery deadlines are met.
- Ability to draft quotations and report writing.
- Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
Spill Response Operative
You should ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience working in a spill response and/or contaminated land or construction related business.
Capabilities and Qualifications
- Experience in working on spill response or construction projects.
- Ability to work with on your own as well as with the wider team.
- Experience on working on projects ensuring deadlines are met.
- Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills together with using a computer.
- A full UK driving licence.
