· Pump & Treat

· Chemical Oxidation

· Air Sparging

· Vapour Extraction

The technique of pumping contaminated waters to the surface for treatment is more commonly referred to as pump & treat.  There are a number of treatment methods which can be used to either destroy the contaminants or remove them for disposal. The cleaned water produced by the system can often be put back into the ground or into a public sewer as long as the relevant permits/consents are in place.

Soilutions are capable of offering oil water separators, sand filters, carbon filters, myclex filters, all of which are predominantly used for hydrocarbon removal.  Techniques including reverse osmosis can be provided for removal of inorganic contaminants.

How much will it cost?  How long will it take?  The answers depend largely on the following:

  • The type and volume of contamination present
  • The size and depth of the polluted groundwater
  • The type of soil and rock in the area
