A Phase 2 Site Investigation report can include information on the strength of the soil at the site and what foundations will be required for any new buildings.
The testing can be undertaken in a borehole using test equipment on the drilling rig, using handheld testing equipment or by laboratory analysis.
Whilst planners usually only want to see environmental data in the report, your structural engineer will also likely to want to see geotechnical information about the soils to help with foundation design, including laboratory testing – obtaining these data during a single mobilisation to site saves time and money.
