Herbicide – Stem Injection

- All regulations and conditions of herbicide have to be adhered to.
- Uses a highly concentrated dose.
- Suitable for small areas / targeted treatment.

Herbicide – Weed Wiping
- Has to be conducted by a suitably qualified sprayer operator.
- All regulations and conditions of herbicide have to be adhered to.
- Uses a highly concentrated dose.
- Suitable for small areas / targeted treatment.

Excavation
- Provide faster results than herbicide spraying.
- Large amounts of waste generated due to roots and soil being excavated.
- Waste to be treated on site unless transported to a licensed disposal site by a licensed waste carrier.
- All waste transfers need to be recorded on consignment notes.
- If subsequently bunded and treated treatment times can be greatly reduced from in-situ treatment.

Burning
- Controlled burning done on the same site where it was produced.
- An environmental permit may be required.
- Burning not to exceed 10 tonnes over a 14 hour period.
- Residual ash can be spread over the area of excavation or buried.

Burying
- Burying must be done with the proviso of the Environmental Agency.
- Can be done within a purpose built cell lined with an anti-plant membrane at a depth greater than 2m.
- If buried without a membrane the cell has to be at a depth greater than 5m.
- Burying plant material must not interfere with the groundwater.
