John Curran, Managing Director of Soilutions Ltd. is a specialist remediation contractor with extensive construction experience gained from managing ground works, drainage installation and landscaping projects for several large construction projects across the UK.

A Civil Engineer by profession, John established Soilutions Ltd. in 2003. He takes responsibility for the overall management of the company from overseeing projects on a day-to-day basis to strategic planning.

Scottish Projects that John has managed to date include:

• Water remediation in Stornoway,
• Stabilization of mercury contaminated silts for the Millennium Link,
• Demolition and remediation projects in Burntisland at a major chemical plant,
• Remediation of asbestos contaminated demolition material and remediation of hydrocarbon contaminated soil in Glasgow,
• Restoration of a former scrap yard south of Glasgow,
• Remediation of a residential area built on a former gasworks in Fife.

John, an Executive Committee Member of the Scottish Contaminated Land Forum, is an active contributor to the investigation into and development of new technologies and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Builders.

John has recently introduced and managed the implementation of an integrated management system securing ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 accreditation for Soilutions Ltd.

Prior to setting up on his own, John was Contract Manager for a national waste management company where he established and managed a new department in Scotland specialising in contaminated land remediation. In this role John put to use the valuable insight and experience gained during his time as Property Manager for the Ministry of Defence and his Contracts Manager experience gained at Burnhead Contracts Ltd. Swift Scotland and John Doyle Construction.
